THE EVOLUTION OF LOG POWER
A visit to Log Power’s ultra modern manufacturing facility is still a step back in time. You will find 3 generations of the Hooper family there overseeing the milling of fine hardwood flooring.
Over the last 4 decades the Hooper’s have refined the art of crafting truly outstanding wood floors. From the careful sourcing of aged hard and softwoods, and in close fellowship with some of the nations oldest saw mills, Log Power has built a reputation for artfully crafting truly exceptional wood floors from one of our nations most cherished, natural and sustainable resources.
With a history that includes years of fine millwork, the production of architectural moldings, custom fireplace mantels, as well as large structural beams Log Power’s vast experience and knowledge of all things wood enable the company to appreciate the legacy and responsibility they have to the generations that follow.
Log Power’s new manufacturing facility was designed with efficiency, the environment and precision in mind. In building their mill the Hooper family analyzed the things that had proven most successful in the past, and married them with the technology of today. This enabled them to fashion a production plant that encompassed all that is good about the human touch, using the machinery to enhance rather than dominate the production strategy.
One of the company’s proudest achievements is the use of sawdust, a waste product of milling floors to supply 100% of the heating for the manufacturing building. The sawdust burning furnace feeds heat to over 4 miles of under-floor radiant heat tubing. This efficient system keeps our workers warm, while not further depleting the world’s fast-diminishing stock of fossil fuels.
The result of this forethought is a facility capable of producing high quality wood flooring that many of our customers believe is unrivaled by even the biggest names in the industry. With six members of the family involved in the daily running of the business, and with a philosophy that nothing but the best will do, Log Power’s growing reputation is a testimony that the ideals of hard work, fairness, value and excellence are still the best recipe for success.
