We make our Hardwood Flooring Spline (Slip Tongue) out of Poplar, to fit 3/4″ thick solid, hardwood flooring that has 1/4″ tongue and groove (NOFMA Standard).
It’s perfect when installing decorative borders like our Feature Strip and intricate patterns like Herringbone and Chevron patterned floors and especially when changing the tongue direction of a floor during installation.

All boards installed in a solid hardwood flooring job should be end-matched and side-matched. Not installing a proper spline can be a big mistake. Boards installed without a precision milled spline, can pop up over time from the seasonal changes in moisture.
Our hardwood slip tongue is available in 200 Lineal Feet (LF) and 1,000 LF boxed quantities. A box of 200 LF is approximately 3′ long and a box of 1,000 LF is approximately 4′ long (MAX Length to Ship UPS). They are conveniently packaged, ideal for any installer’s truck!
